Minecraft: Story Mode - A Telltale Game Series is an episodic story-driven game series set in the world of Minecraft which will be released in 2015 for PC, Mac, mobile devices and what Mojang calls "Xbox consoles" and "PlayStation consoles." We've contacted Telltale for clarification on the platforms.
The game has an original storyline that is affected by the choices the players make, much like Telltale's other offerings, Tales from the Borderlands, Game of Thrones, The Wolf Among Us and The Walking Dead. "Telltale's game series will mix new characters with familiar themes and will provide a completely unique Minecraft experience, inspired by the Minecraft community and the game that continues to inspire a new generation," Telltale writes.
Mojang offers a little more details about its story approach on its blog: "We don't intend to create a story that is official for Steve, nor describe the world of Minecraft in depth. It will be a cool game."
Mojang announced the collaboration via a an in-game mini-game called Info Quest 2 (which is fairly cute). In November, Microsoft acquired Mojang for $2.5 billion. MINECRAFT JAVA [Image: Telltale]
